See, the nice thing about kids is they tell you when they're pretending. They cannot help but tell the truth.

I'm trying to pin down exactly when they not only learn to lie, but when they start doing it habitually, without remorse. Not a Big Lie, not Corporate Fraud, or Textbook Gaslighting. I'm talking about when someone looks them in the eye and asks them how they are and they say they're fine. When they're really not.

What's the point of the Sun illuminating us if we don't ever see each other.
